10% drug spend rise for Spain since July 2007
Prescription drug spending in Spain was 9.7% higher in July 2008 compared with the same month in 2007, although the total for the whole year saw a 6.3% rise. The figures, released by the Ministry of Health, also reveal that the volume of prescribing grew 5.8% in the 12 months to July this year and that average expenditure per script was up 0.8%.
