A study by the US National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors has examined the effects of recent increases in funding to states for AIDS Drug Assistance Programs, under the Ryan White Program's funding formulas. A sample of three states plus Puerto Rico reported 529 people awaiting drug assistance, the group said, but 12 other states expect to improve services with the extra funds.
