Spain's largest drugmaker, Laboratorios Almirall, has opened a new UK and Ireland office in the Stockley Park area of West London.
50 staff will work from the office across the firm's range of 14 products, under the jurisdiction of general manager Carlos Gallardo. The GM said: "our new offices enable us to be well positioned for the growing market in the UK and Ireland, where I am confident we will be able to make an increasing contribution to the improved treatment of patients in the UK."
The UK government's business secretary Peter Mandelson welcomed the company to the UK. "As the government's strategy, 'Building Britain's Future' states, we are committed to helping companies to invest in Britain as well as safeguard the jobs this investment supports," Lord Mandelson said.
