Antisoma licenses anticancer drug
Antisoma has licensed the anticancer drug DMXAA from Cancer ResearchVentures. Preclinical trials have demonstrated that the compound reduces blood flow to solid tumors and stimulates cytokine production. Antisoma's chief executive, Glyn Edwards, says that the company "hopes to complete Phase I clinical trials testing DMXAA alone and start Phase Ib studies using the product in combination with chemotherapy by the end of 2002."
