The AIDS Research Assistance Institute, a US non-profit organization, has found positive benefits in African people with AIDS/HIV taking the food supplement concentrated Flax Hull Lignans.

Malnourished children have also shown height and weight increases on the supplement. Many children have grown between 6cm and 11cm in a three-month period, according to the organization.
