Astex teams with Cancer Research UK for oncology drug
Astex Therapeutics, a UK fragment-based drug discovery company, has entered into a clinical trials agreement with Cancer Research UK to support the further development of its proprietary drug compound, AT9283, in children and adolescent patients with cancer.
Under the terms of the agreement, a Phase I study of AT9283 in patients with relapsed or refractory solid tumours will be conducted through the Cancer Research UK's Drug Development Office and a further trial in hematological malignancies is also planned.
