AstraZeneca China, a unit of the UK-based Anglo-Swedish drug group, has agreed to become a major sponsor of the UK Pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010 in China, where it is a leading prescription medicines firm. Its sponsorship will amount to L500,000 ($972,600) and will directly support the design, development and staging of the British pavilion, chief executive David Brennan announced.
The firm's investments in China include a $100.0 million discovery research and translational science center in Shanghai and $150.0 million in manufacturing in Wuxi.
