AstraZeneca starts Pha II trials of NO-NSAID
AstraZeneca has started Phase II trials of the non-steroidalanti-inflammatory drug HCT 3102, triggering a $3 million milestone payment to NicOx, which originated the compound. HCT 1026 is a nitric oxide-releasing derivative of the NSAID naproxen, and preclinical studies indicate it has a more effective anti-inflammatory and analgesic profile than current NSAIDs.
