Axcan Pharma Starts Ph III With Urso
- Axcan Pharma has begun a Phase II study of Urso (ursodiol) forpreventing the recurrence of adenomatous polyps, which can be an advance sign of colorectal cancer. The study will be conducted in 600 patients and will take two years to complete. Axcan is awaiting approval of Urso for primary biliary cirrhosis in the USA.
