Barr gets OK for generic Nordette in USA
Barr Laboratories has been granted approval by the US Food and DrugAdministration for a generic version of Wyeth's oral contraceptive Nordette (levonorgestrel 0.15mg and ethinylestradiol 0.03mg). Barr said it would launch its version of the drug, which has annual US sales of around $79 million, within the next 30 days under the trade name Portia.
