Barr's Pliva subsid gets FDA OK for generic Taxol

US generics firm Barr Pharmaceuticals says that its Croatian subsidiary Pliva, which was purchased in 2006 for $2.6 billion (Marketletters passim), has received Food and Drug Administration approval to market a generic version of Bristol-Myers Squibb's anticancer agent Taxol (paclitaxel). Barr added that the product, which will be available as an injectable USP package at dosages of 6mg/ml, 100mg/16.7ml and 300mg/50ml, will be launched on the $98.0 million US market in due course.
