BAXTER IN CHINESE JOINT VENTURE
Baxter International of the USA has announced that it has signed a $10 million joint venture agreement with Chinese pharmaceutical and industrial development partners to manufacture and sell products in China for people with kidney disease. This marks Baxter's first major step into the Chinese medical market. Baxter will open a plant near Guangzhou in southern China, employing 100 local workers to produce fluids and disposable supplies for continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis.
