Germany's Bayer is to construct a new technology center at the Chempark Leverkusen near the firm's headquarters. The state-of-the-art "factory of the future" is to begin construction late this year to be completed during 2010. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia has contributed 5.0 million euros ($6.7 million) to the project under the German economic stimulus package.
