Germany's Bayer will launch a $20.0-million advertising campaign as part of a settlement with 27 US states. The plaintiffs won their case accusing Bayer of advertising its contraceptive Yaz (drospirenone/ ethinyl estradiol) for off-label indications. Under the terms of the settlement, Bayer must pay for the campaign to retract the misleading statements, as well as submitting all future television advertisements for Food and Drug Administration review.
