Bayer signs PET deal with Hamamatsu

Germany's Bayer Schering and Japan-based Hamamatsu Photonics have signed a licensing agreement for the use of novel substances in the field of  molecular imaging for cancer.

Under the terms of the deal, Bayer acquires the worldwide exclusive  rights for the R&D and commercialization of a group of molecules that  specifically bind to malignant tumor cells. In combination with positron  emission tomography, these tracers could potentially improve the  diagnosis of a variety of cancers.
