Calls for stronger biosimilar policies to boost access and resilience

Industry group Medicines for Europe has urged policymakers to strengthen support for biosimilar medicines, arguing that wider uptake could improve patient access to biologic therapies while reinforcing Europe’s pharmaceutical resilience.

In a press release issued at the BIOS26 conference, the trade association said biosimilars have become increasingly important not only for healthcare systems under financial pressure, but also for Europe’s broader industrial and strategic autonomy goals.
