Aurinia to acquire Kezar Life Sciences

Kezar Life Sciences (Nasdaq: KZR) shares jumped about 21% to $7.45 by close on Monday after Aurinia Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: AUPH) announced an agreement to acquire the company for $6.955 per share in cash plus a contingent value right (CVR).

Kezar is a US biotechnology company focusing on small-molecule therapeutics to treat unmet needs in autoimmunity and cancer. Jefferies reiterated a Hold rating and $7.00 price target on Kezar following the announcement.
