BeOne's Brukinsa advances chemo-free approach

BeOne Medicines (HKEX: 06160) has reported positive topline results from the Phase III MANGROVE trial, showing that Brukinsa (zanubrutinib) plus rituximab significantly outperformed standard chemoimmunotherapy in previously untreated mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), potentially opening the way for the first chemotherapy-free Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor regimen in the frontline setting.

The global study met its primary endpoint at a prespecified interim analysis. According to the company, patients treated with Brukinsa plus rituximab experienced a 43% reduction in the risk of disease progression or death compared with bendamustine plus rituximab, while no new safety signals were identified.
