
US biotech BioMarin Pharmaceutical (Nasdaq: BMRN) has pulled the plug on BMN 401, discontinuing the enzyme replacement therapy across all indications just over a year after it paid around $270 million to buy the asset along with its developer, Inozyme Pharma.
The decision, disclosed alongside second-quarter results on August 6, follows the pivotal Phase III ENERGY 3 trial in children aged one to 12 with ENPP1 deficiency, which in May met only one of its two co-primary endpoints.
