
Candel Therapeutics (Nasdaq: CADL) has appointed oncology commercial veteran Mark Sims as chief commercial officer, effective July 6, as the company prepares for the potential launch of its lead cancer immunotherapy, aglatimagene besadenovec (CAN-2409), for localized prostate cancer.
Mr Sims will lead commercial strategy and launch readiness for aglatimagene in patients with intermediate- to high-risk localized prostate cancer. Candel plans to submit a biologics license application to the US Food and Drug Administration in the fourth quarter of 2026 following positive Phase III results and the therapy's Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy designation.
