
Australia’s CSL Ltd (ASX: CSL) today announced that the European Commission has granted marketing authorization for Privigen, a human immunoglobulin therapy indicated for pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent and reduce the risk of measles where vaccination is contraindicated or not recommended.
The approval comes at a critical time. Health authorities across Europe, including the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, reported a sharp increase in measles cases in 2024. In 2025, case numbers remained elevated, with reported infections approximately twice as high as in 2023.
