GSK exits Alector neurodegeneration alliance after trial failures
GSK (LSE: GSK) has terminated its neurodegeneration collaboration with Alector (Nasdaq: ALEC), ending an alliance established five years ago around two experimental antibodies. The decision follows clinical setbacks in frontotemporal dementia and early Alzheimer’s disease, which left neither of the partnered programs in active development.
Alector disclosed the termination in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). GSK provided written notice on July 6, with the agreement due to end on January 2, 2027, following the 180-day notice period required under the collaboration.
