Kailera reports positive Phase III data for oral GLP-1 obesity candidate

US biotech Kailera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: KLRA) has reported positive top-line data from two Chinese Phase III studies of HRS-7535, an oral small-molecule GLP-1 receptor agonist it is developing outside Greater China as KAI-7535.

The trials were conducted by Chinese drugmaker Hengrui Pharma (Shanghai: 600276; HKEX: 1276). In HARBOR-1, a placebo-controlled study in adults with obesity or overweight, HRS-7535 met the primary endpoint of superior weight reduction at week 44.
