Lonza licenses dual-payload ADC technology to Antharis for GI cancer programs

Swiss contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Lonza Group (SWX: LONN) has signed an exclusive, target-specific licensing agreement with US biotech Antharis Therapeutics to develop dual-payload antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for gastrointestinal (GI) cancers.

Under the agreement, Antharis will gain rights to Lonza’s site-specific dual-payload ADC technology, which is designed to deliver two distinct therapeutic payloads through a single antibody. The companies said the approach could help address tumor heterogeneity and drug resistance, two challenges that can limit the effectiveness of conventional single-payload ADCs.
