
Merck & Co (NYSE: MRK)—the US pharma giant known as MSD outside North America—has welcomed a recommendation from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) supporting the use of Winrevair (sotatercept) for certain adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in England and Wales.
The guidance recommends Winrevair, in combination with existing PAH therapies, for adults with World Health Organization Functional Class II to III disease whose condition is assessed as intermediate-low risk following initial treatment, or for patients continuing treatment if the disease progresses to intermediate-high risk.
