The company said on Tuesday the cash will carry its regulatory T cell platform into clinical development across several autoimmune diseases.
The company is built on the work of co-founder Shimon Sakaguchi, who identified regulatory T cells (Tregs) and their role in stopping the immune system from attacking the body's own tissue. Professor Sakaguchi shared last year's Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for that discovery, and RegCell is now attempting to turn it into treatments.
