Regeneron halts early-stage uveitis trial after safety event

18 August 2026

US biotech major Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: REGN) has voluntarily terminated an early-stage study of REGN7041, an experimental anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody being developed for active non-infectious uveitis affecting the back of the eye, after judging that the benefit-risk profile no longer supported continuing.

The open-label Phase I/IIa trial, known as TITAN, began in December 2025 and was designed to enroll 72 adults, with completion targeted for around mid-2028. Instead, both primary and overall completion dates have been logged as July 21, with enrollment stopping at a single participant, according to ClinicalTrials.gov.
