Scottish biotech Bead BioPharma emerges from stealth with ADC platform

Scottish biotech company Bead BioPharma has emerged from stealth after filing its first patent application for a chemistry-based platform designed to improve the performance of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).

The Edinburgh-based company, backed by investment syndicate Archangels, is working on technology intended to address a familiar problem in ADC development: the instability of the linker that connects a tumor-targeting antibody to a cytotoxic payload.
