
US biotech Spot Biosystems has emerged from stealth with $40 million in venture financing and early data for a non-viral gene therapy platform aimed at Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The Palo Alto company is developing an extracellular vesicle delivery system, designed to carry genetic medicines without using viral vectors. Its lead candidate, SPOT-03, delivers full-length dystrophin to skeletal muscle by intravenous dosing.
