TroFuse milestone lifts post-Keytruda cancer strategy

US pharma major Merck & Co (NYSE: MRK) has reported positive Phase III data for sac-TMT (sacituzumab tirumotecan) in advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer, giving the company a potentially important new growth driver as it prepares for future competition to blockbuster immunotherapy Keytruda (pembrolizumab).

The TroFuse-005 study met its dual primary endpoints of overall survival and progression-free survival in patients previously treated with platinum chemotherapy and anti-PD-(L)1 immunotherapy. The trial also achieved a key secondary endpoint measuring objective response rate.
