WHO names Fiocruz as biomanufacturing training hub for Americas

The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated Brazil’s Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, known as Fiocruz, as the regional biomanufacturing training center for the Americas, as part of efforts to expand local production of vaccines, biotherapeutics and other health technologies.

The center will form part of the WHO Biomanufacturing Workforce Training Initiative, launched in 2023 to address skills gaps across the biomanufacturing value chain and support more sustainable regional manufacturing capacity.
