AstraZeneca brings fight to Omicron with good data for Vaxzevria and Evusheld

As the heavily-mutated Omicron strain of coronavirus continues to spread globally, vaccine developers are racing to assess the effectiveness of their options against the variant.

British drugmaker AstraZeneca (LSE: AZN) has released encouraging pre-clinical data to this end, showing two doses plus a booster of its Vaxzevria generated a robust antibody response.

Neutralization titers for Omicron were boosted following a third dose with Vaxzevria, compared to titers after a second dose.
