Novartis says Phase III APPOINT-PNH trial shows iptacopan improves hemoglobin

With another set of strong data under its belt, Swiss pharma giant Novartis (NOVN: VX) is now looking to filing regulatory applications for its investigational oral monotherapy iptacopan.

Novartis today announced detailed results from the Phase III APPOINT-PNH trial of iptacopan in complement-inhibitor-naïve (including anti-C5 therapies) adults with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH).

According to Evaluate analysts, iptacopan, which is also being tested in other indications, has been projected to have net present value of $4.1 billion for the company.
