Joe McCracken has been appointed Head of Pharma Partnering Asia at Swiss drug major Roche. Based in Tokyo, Japan, Mr McCracken will oversee Roche's collaborations and lead the search for external innovation across the region.
'This region is of increasing strategic importance to Roche and we see significant opportunities for partnering,' said Dan Zabrowski, Global Head of Pharma Partnering at Roche. 'With Joe's considerable experience, he will strengthen our relationship-building activities to tap into the burgeoning science base across Asia.'
Prior to his new appointment, Mr McCracken was Vice President of Business Development at Genentech, the South San Francisco-based wholly-owned subsidiary of Roche. He was instrumental in implementing the collaborative model between the Roche and Genentech partnering groups, whereby both organizations coordinate partnering opportunities within the Roche Group whilst retaining their independence.
