BT Pharma closes 2.8M-euro financing

21 September 2008

Toulouse, France-based BT Pharma, a company developing novel immunotherapeutics for HPV-associated diseases and cancers, says that it has successfully closed a new financing round of just over 2.8 million euros ($4.0 million). The round was led by Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners. Longstanding shareholders Fonds d'Amorcage Midi-Pyrenees managed by the team of Icso Private Equity, BrevImmo, LBP, Beaufagne, Whitehall and the management of the company also participated.

The funds will enable the company to take its lead immunotherapeutic candidate, ProCervix, through the final stages of its preclinical development and to prepare to enter into clinical trials. ProCervix primarily aims to treat women who are already infected by human papillomavirus and who therefore run the risk of developing high-grade neoplasia and/or cervical cancer.
