Cancer Research UK opens R&D center

Cancer Research UK has announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art cancer R&D facility at the charity's Clare Hall laboratories in Herfordshire, UK. The center will cost an estimated L20.0 million ($40.5 million) and will house the group's Biotherapeutics Development Unit.

Gillian Lewis, the head of the Cancer Research UK's BDU, said: "biotherapeutics really are at the cutting edge in terms of the development of new cancer treatments and, in order to achieve significant advances, we need the best facilities. That's exactly what the new building gives us."
