- Cell Genesys has started preclinical development of an anti-interleukin-8 monoclonal antibody, which may have clinical utility in adult respiratory distress syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and rheumatoid arthritis. The preclinical studies will be conducted by Xenotech, an equally-owned joint venture between Cell Genesys and JT Immunotech USA, a subsidiary of Japan Tobacco. Human trials are scheduled for 1997.
