Cyclacel closes Ph IIb seliciclib trial
The USA's Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals has decided to stop enrolling patients into APPRAISE trial, a Phase IIb study of its cancer drug seliciclib, after it yielded disappointing early results.
The Independent Data Review Committee assessed the safety profile of the agent and recommended that the study continue after reviewing data from 173 patients with previously-treated non-small cell lung cancer, of whom 45 proceeded into the blinded portion of the study and were randomized to receive either seliciclib or best supportive care.
