Nefarma, the research-based pharmaceutical industry association in the Netherlands, has reorganized its relationship with the Farmeduca, which regulates the training of drugmakers' marketing representatives both to physicians and dentists. The reforms mean that the Farmeduca, which was founded in 1995, is now an independent body from the trade representative group.
Nefarma explained the reasoning behind the move as designed to "further reinforce the position of the doctor visitor as a respected partner of the prescriber." The governing board of the Farmeduca includes three pharmaceutical company representatives.
