US drugmaker Eli Lilly says that its HumaPen Luxura insulin delivery device is now available in the UK. The product, which was launched at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes' annual meeting in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has a reusable pen-based design that enables convenient administration of insulin doses, at half step increments, across a 30-unit range.
Lilly said that HumaPen Luxura is to be used with 3ml cartridges that can be easily replaced when finished. The firm added that the product's design allows any over-dialling errors to be corrected without any insulin loss.
