US pharmacy benefit management firm Express Scripts has announced a major initiative to advance consumer communications in health care, inspired by $600.0 million in savings, a six-fold increase for generics in a single drug category and new research results.
"We know that innovative communications and an advanced understanding of the consumer were critical in helping us save plan sponsors and consumers over half a billion dollars in the anti-cholesterol category alone," said George Paz, the firm's chief executive. "That is why we've launched a center of excellence with the nation's leading experts to advance thinking on consumer motivation and support our unique effort in this area," he said.
