FDA expands indication for S-P hep C combo
US drug major Schering-Plough has received Food and Drug Administration approval for a new labeling of its Pegintron (peginterferon alfa-2b) and Rebetol (ribavirin) combination therapy for treating chronic hepatitis C patients with compensated liver disease. Pegintron and Rebetol is now the only pegylated interferon combination therapy approved in the USA that is not restricted to treatment-naive patients.
