FDA partnership to cut medication errors
The US Food and Drug Administration has teamed up with the Institute for Safe Medication Practices, a Pennsylvania-based non-profit organization, to reduce the almost 7,000 deaths annually in the USA, caused by medication errors. Andrew von Eschenbach, Acting Commissioner of the FDA said: "some abbreviations, symbols and dose designations are frequently misunderstoood."
