Fewer problems with Medicare Part D enrollment

The US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Sevices (CMS) reports that, contrary to the initial chaos of registering millions of senior citizens onto the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit last year, the system appears to be holding up.

A spokesman for the CMS told the Associated Press: "there's nothing that has risen to the level of a crisis." The agency also reported that 30 million page views on the www.medicare.org web site and five million calls to the CMS toll-free telephone number had been made during the recent enrollment period, which began on November 15 and ended on December 31 last year.
