France's LEEM offers 2.1% pay rise to pharma sector

France's drug industry association (LEEM), in its capacity as the professional representative for drugmakers, has offered a 2.1% pay rise for the minimum wages in the sector's workforce. The industry's minimum wage levels remain higher than the nationally-mandate level, the LEEM argued. In the private sector, gross average wages are 2,513 euros ($3,697.88) per month versus 3,111 euros in the pharmaceutical industry.

One of the labor union federations, the CFDT, requested changes to seniority bonuses, which was rejected by the LEEM on behalf of its member companies. However, the CFE-CGC labor union has accepted the proposals made on the part of employers, the LEEM stated.
