Fred Meyer Stores debuts $4 generic Rx

Starting April 4, Fred Meyer Stores and QFC began offering US pharmacy customers some generic drugs for $4 per prescription. The $4 generic prescriptions will be available at all QFC pharmacies in the sttes of Washington and Oregon, and at all Fred Meyer pharmacies in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. The $4 price will apply to more than 300 generic drugs prescribed for 30-day supplies for commonly prescribed dosages.

The Fred Meyer and QFC programs include generic alternatives for some of the most commonly-prescribed drugs used to treat conditions such as diabetes, asthma, depression, heart disease, thyroid and other health problems.The $4 generic prescriptions provide Fred Meyer and QFC customers with an affordable alternative to meet their health care and medication needs. Customers interested in the low-price generic drugs should consult their doctors or pharmacists to determine if a generic drug is available for their prescription and if it is right for them.

Separately, Fred Meyer and QFC will offer generic versions of the family planning drugs Ortho Cyclen and Ortho Tri Cyclen (28-day supply) and the generic version of the fertility drug Clomid for $9.
