Free morning-after pill for UK
The British Pregnancy Advisory Service has announced that it will prescribe emergency contraception in England and Wales without charge to women. The charity will distribute Levonelle (levonorgestrel), marketed by Germany's Bayer HealthCare, at clinics in 10 cities across the UK over the festive season. The drug is normally available over-the-counter for L26 ($38.63). The BPAS argues that limited access to pharmacies over the holiday period make its service more urgent for many people.
