Genentech poised to initiate Ph I trial of Curis drug; will trigger $6M payment
Curis, a US drug development company focused on cancer, says that world biotechnology giant Genentech expects to initiate in January 2009 a pivotal Phase II trial of GDC-0449.
Originated by Curis, the orally-administered small-molecule Hedgehog Pathway Inhibitor will be tested as a single-agent therapy for patients with metastatic or locally advanced basal cell carcinoma, a condition with no standard of care.
