German Funds Seek More Freedom
Leading German health funds have told Health Minister Horst Seehofer that greater contractual freedom and competition in the health service, and a bigger role for them in shaping health service policy, would achieve further economies and maintain stable premiums for patients. The white-collar workers fund says there is still room for savings, and the industrial funds have asked the Minister to legislate to allow funds more flexibility in seeking contractual partners and in signing deals for service provision.
