Glaxo Wellcome Licenses Ranitidine To Novopharm, Ends Battle
- Following the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit's rulingthat Novopharm could produce a Form 1 generic version of Glaxo Wellcome's antiulcer drug Zantac (ranitidine; Marketletter April 14) after the patent expires in July, GW has announced that it has signed a licensing agreement which will allow Novopharm to market a generic Form 1 ranitidine product in the USA.
